We had such an amazing day on Saturday hosting The Business of Styling Mastermind. We loved spending the day with a talented group of interior stylists, eager to soak up all the wisdom and inspiration we had on offer.

We kicked off the morning with Vision and Business Coach, Loren Trlin. As we relaxed into a deep meditation and then began carving out the vision for our businesses. Loren talked us through ways to discover our ‘why’ and ultimate purpose in life. This fun exploration brought so many fresh ideas to the surface and helped guests map out the direction for their styling business.

Next up, we were joined by Mel Browne and Fiona Skrzypnik from A&TA to chat about the often dreaded topic of accounting. The dynamic duo shared their advice on the software you need to take your business to the next level and what to expect when working with an accounting team. Everyone walked away excited about mastering their finances and full of fresh tips to make tax time a breeze.

We then delved into the legal side of business with Sonya Pala, Co-Founder of The Decorating School. Sonya shared her insights into the legal documents you need to keep yourself protected and gave us an idea of the basics we need to understand about business law. From contracts to social media posts, we covered it all!

Then Emma Blomfield, Co-Founder of The Decorating School had guests join in on a fun activity to identifying their ideal client. Guests were able to determine all the characteristics of their perfect client to create a better understanding around their niche target market.

Emma then spoke about the often difficult task of describing and pricing your services. Sharing her insights into the expenses involved in running a styling business and tips on how to structure your pricing.

The day ended with a speed marketing session from Alicia Penhorwood, Director of Harper Collective Brand Management. As she shared her advice on reaching new clients, mastering your social media and platforms you can use to market your business effectively.  Alicia delved into the do’s and don’t of social media and shared her insights into ways you can build your following authentically.

We loved every moment of being able to connect with so many talented women and can’t wait to create more magical events like this soon.

A big thank you to our sponsors Pressed Juices, Fever-Tree Tonic Water, Ovvio Organics, Ash Living, Barkly Basics, Inside Out Magazine, Dandi Studio, Ena Products, Typoflora, Bondi Wash and Little Branch. Plus, our amazing speakers and wonderful guests who joined us for a fun-filled day.
